Dr. Andy John Gray

Dr. Andy John Gray has been caring for families in the Lubbock, Texas area for the past twenty years. He is certified by the American board of Family Practitioners, and is committed to providing intensive primary care that is personalized, compassionate and thoughtful.

Developing the concept of "preferredMD", Dr. Gray opened his practice in January, 2004. He was ready to return to the "horse and buggy" style of medicine that seemed to have vanished. After growing up in Alpine, Texas, where he had been cared for by doctors who offered personalized and compassionate patient care. Dr. Gray was prepared to renew that style of medicine for his patients. He wanted to take the time necessary with each individual, to know them and their concerns, allowing him to thoroughly understand and address their medical questions and needs. He was determined to offer "a new level of care, with an old level of caring."

In addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses with the newest medications, tests, and natural remedies available, Dr. Gray is committed to prevention. Preventative care involves identifying risk factors, employing the most current medical research and facts to proactively discover and treat illnesses before serious consequences occur. He believes that early detection and aggressive treatment of potential illnesses are fundamental to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Every aspect of your personal health can be assessed in a trusting, confidential and comfortable environment. With a maximum of 600 patients, Dr. Gray is uniquely qualified to provide an enhanced quality of care to patients.

Janie, Concierge

The first person you're likely to see as you enter the office is Janie. A true "people person", she has been with Dr. Gray for 34 years.

Janie is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, responding to telephone calls, ensuring that your visit is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, providing breakfast for early morning appointments, grocery shopping, weed pulling… She is also responsible for anything else that anyone asks her to do!!! And if anyone becomes bored, she will tell you a story.

Susan, Office Manager

Thinking about becoming a patient of Dr. Gray’s? Susan is the one to talk to! Passionate about this style of practice, she is well equipped to answer all your questions – after all, she is one of his patients that followed him from his prior practice into his new Concierge one. She can tell you her experience as a patient, and why she feels this is the best option for busy families or the best care anyone could give to a loved one.

Susan brings to the practice a 23 year background in Hospital Administration, most recently as a Corporate Compliance Officer, and has shared that experience with professionals locally and as far away as China. She’s a big believer in mentoring and learning from others and feels we play a role in our future by what we teach our children and young adults.

The loves of her life are her husband Billy and 14 year old son David. She moved to Lubbock in 1994, but is originally a Jersey Girl who lost her accent, and now calls Lubbock her home. When she’s done giving her energy to Dr. Gray’s practice, she spends her time as an instructor for Weight Watchers, and running her own small business as the Owner of Diamontrigue of Lubbock. She enjoys cooking, tennis with her son, golf and martial arts with her husband and loves to spend time outdoors walking, camping or digging in her garden. Most of all, she loves meeting new people with a warm smile and a handshake or hug, and engaging them in conversation on any topic.

Bettina, R.N.

Over 35 years of medical experience is just one of the benefits Bettina brings to our patients. She greets everyone with a warm smile and her caring heart is evident to all who encounter her. She is a wealth of knowledge for our patients, an excellent teacher, and an expert in community resources available to make life easier for our patients who need special assistance.

Her nursing background is varied and includes Medical/Surgical, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Occupational Health, and Dialysis. A voracious learner, she said when she joined us that she was looking forward to ‘picking Dr. Gray’s brain’ to be able to take the best care of his patients as possible….and she’s been true to her word!

A Texan all her life, she enjoys needlepoint as well as golf with husband Glen. She is the proud mother of David, a Restaurant Manager and Shilo who is pursuing his PhD in Political Science at Boston College. She is step-grandmother to Justin, Keith, Colton and Ashlyn and has a grandpuppy named Roxie, a dappled miniature dachshund.
